Amber Johansen
BFA Dance Education
Amber Johansen is a mother of two young, exciting girls who keep her running everyday. When she's not being walked by her ridiculously strong Samoyed, she loves to spend her time playing in the sun with her family. Her strong voice can be heard even in the midst of 50 talking students and lively music, thanks to her years as a lifeguard and swim instructor. It was Amber's lifelong dream to become a mermaid but when she learned that degree isn't offered in college, she decided to be a dance teacher instead. While in college at Utah Valley University she was able to cultivate her technical skills as well as her administrative abilities while she served in various leadership roles including Utah Dance Education Organization student rep, UVU student rep, and UVU Dance Department Administrative Assistant. Eventually she became the first Dance Education graduate from UVU. After graduating she moved to Texas where she worked at Absolute Dance as both a teacher and as the manager. When the opportunity arose to join the Skyhawks it was too good of an opportunity to pass up. Amber is excited to teach such classes as Dance Company, Concurrent Enrollment Dance Classes, Social Dance classes (partner dancing), Dance 1, Yoga, and even a Special Needs Creative Dance Class.
